Happy St Josephs Day
Happy St Josephs Day To My Fellow Paison's
St. Joseph’s Day 2015: 10 Facts, History And Traditions For San Giuseppe
Whether it’s called St. Joseph’s Day, The Feast of St. Joseph or La Festa di San Giuseppe, the March 19 holiday is dedicated to the husband of the Virgin Mary. To celebrate the feast, which is usually held two days after St. Patrick’s Day, check out some facts gathered from Fisheaters.com and The Times-Picayune.
1. St. Joseph’s Day is widely celebrated by Catholics in the Italian community.
2. St. Joseph is the patron saint of Sicily.
3. The altar, also known as “St. Joseph’s Table” or “la tavola di San Giuseppe,” is an important part of the ceremony. People decorate it with flowers, candles, wine and some “lucky” foods.
4. Fava beans are supposedly “lucky” since they survived during a draught in Italy during the Middle Ages when nothing else did. St. Joseph, through God, saved worshipers from the draught, some believe.
5. Lemons are also thought to be good luck on this day. A side fact: If a woman looking to get married steals a lemon from the altar, it will help her find a husband.
6. Breadcrumbs are usually incorporated into dishes. They represent sawdust, which commemorates Joseph’s job as a carpenter. They could also represent the dry earth during the draught.
7. Meat is usually left off the altar since St. Joseph’s Day takes place during lent. Instead, believers feast on fish and other seafood.
8. St Joseph’s Day is arguably best known for its pastries, with sfinge (cream puffs) and zeppole (doughnuts) being the most popular.
9. While Irish Americans wear green on St. Patrick’s Day, it’s tradition to wear red on St. Joseph’s Day.
10. St. Joseph’s Day is largely celebrated in New Orleans, which was a popular port among Sicilian immigrants in the 19th century. The French Quarter has even garnered the nickname “Little Palermo.”

Sad Dads Club
Many have asked what is the 'Sad Dad's Club'
The Sad Dads Club Story
This is a group of Dads who also unfortunately have lost a child. This is a great dads group, in a different setting than that of the past.
This is just a Group of Dads who has found a different way to talk, console, and laugh. Yes laugh in a lighter arena, and yet support each other fully. And I wanted people to be clear on this project.
This is just a Group of Dads who has found a different way to talk, console, and laugh. Yes laugh in a lighter arena, and yet support each other fully. And I wanted people to be clear on this project.
I don't have to tell you about the pain we have all experienced in the loss of our children, yet one thing that has drawn me to the MISS Foundation is the support, the honesty, the candor and the positive thinking. We all want our children back. That is our only wish.
Yet, this 'club' was organized after NBC12 Phoenix did a report on a group of Dads who have experienced the loss of their child. It aired for Father’s Day 2013 and was dubbed the Sad Dads Club by NBC Reporter Kevin Kennedy, It was hosted by Barry Kluger, along with Michael Sansone and Barry Adkins.
We were Struck by the fact that amidst the tears. Very hard tears. There were light moments as well.
Somehow, we find glimpses, however short, of what we have lost but what we may have.

Here are some pics from snowfall here in Phoenix and Scottsdale this last couple days...Brrrrrr
Some Maricopa County residents got a rare treat Wednesday: snow. A winter storm moved into the state overnight, bringing a chilly end to 2014 and temperatures around 28 degrees. Heavy snow began falling in the Wickenburg area, about 65 miles northwest of Phoenix, around 9:30a.m. Wednesday.
Rain and snow fell on Phoenix in the early morning hours and snow accumulated in and elsewhere around the state, including Lake Havasu City, Prescott and Flagstaff.
The same weather system will bring cold temperatures and a freeze watch in the Phoenix area later tonight.
The system prompted the National Weather Service to issue a winter storm warning from 11 a.m. Wednesday to 5 p.m. Thursday for parts of Arizona north of 3,500 feet, where 2-to-6 inches of snow accumulation were possible.
By 6:30 a.m. Wednesday, the storm system had already brought a steady, light rain to the Valley and reports of 3 inches of snow in the Flagstaff area.
The system could dump as much as 10 inches of snow in areas above 5,000 feet, according to the National Weather Service. It brought 1/2 inch to Scottsdale and Fountain Hills also..W
