New Portillo's in Arizona to hire 200 for new restaurants


Portillo’s, the popular Chicago-based fast-casual restaurant, will hire roughly 200 hourly workers to staff its new Scottsdale location opening in February.
Hiring will begin Jan. 3.
The Scottsdale restaurant will be at the southwest corner of 90th Street and Shea Boulevard. The company will open its second location in Tempe next summer at Rio Salado Parkway and McClintock Drive.
“We are very excited about our Scottsdale opening,” said president and founder of Portillo Restaurant Group Dick Portillo. “Once the word got out that we were coming to Arizona, the response was overwhelming. We look forward to having a positive impact on the local economy with our operations in both Scottsdale and Tempe.”
Applicants can apply in person at the hiring center located at 9160 E. Shea Blvd., Unit 103A in Scottsdale. Applicants also have the option of picking up and dropping off a completed application in the mailbox at the Portillo’s restaurant site.
The restaurant is known for its Italian beef and hot dogs. Its menu also includes Italian sausage, burgers, chicken sandwiches, specialty salads and a renowned chocolate cake.
The Chicago chain announced its Arizona expansion plans in February.
Many of the Phoenix area’s transplanted Chicagoans are giddy to have their beloved Portillo’s finally following them to the desert.
A company spokesperson told the Phoenix Business Journal in August the beloved Chicago icon also is scouting locations in Chandler.
There are 34 Portillo’s Hot Dogs locations across the country, with all but three in Illinois.

Endorsement from another Long Time Resident

I see you plan to run for the Board.

As you may remember I tried and could not break thru all the
Politics.
I wish to offer my help to you to maybe break that mold.
I am here to help if you need it.

Based on what I am seeing as it relates to the entire insurance program
The Board has decided to use a AAA auto insurance agency
that has no background at all as it relates to an HOA.
The Board has however provided that new agency with letters of authority
Which turns over all my policies to that new agency.
On the bright side ……

That will at least provide the association with the proper insurance.
Providing that agency uses them all and not mickey mouse others.
What a way for the Board to thank me
Wow.

I have never in all my 39 years in this business been treated this way.

National Children's Memorial Day Candle Lighting Service


National Children's Memorial Day happens every year on the second Sunday of December and is observed internationally. Families around the world light candles at 7 p.m. in their corresponding time zones. 

As candles burn down in one time zone, they are lighted in the next, creating a 24-hour wave of light that encircles the globe. This remembrance ceremony provides the world with lit candles for an entire 24 hour period in order to honor the children we have lost, the children who lived and died, and who, even in death, continue to matter. 

 This year the date is December 9, 2012. 

  The candle lighting service will be held at Temple Chai 
4645 E. Marilyn Road Phoenix, AZ 85032. 

 The service will begin at promptly 6:30 pm. NCMD is hosted this year by the attendees of the Third Annual "Surviving the Holidaze" Workshops. We invite you, your family and friends to join us in honoring all the children who have died too soon by lighting a candle in their memory. 

 You are also welcome to bring a few items of your child to share at the memorial tables. 

  A festival of desserts following. Please bring your favorite dessert in memory of your child.

For those of you who will be filling out United Way donation forms, we would like to ask that you consider designating a portion of your contribution for the MISS Foundation.  

We are a nonprofit, 501(c)(3) volunteer-based organization committed to providing crisis support and long-term aid to families after the death of a child from any cause.  

MISS also participates in legislative and advocacy issues, community engagement and volunteerism, and programs to reduce infant and toddler death through research and education.  

The MISS Foundation was founded in Arizona by ASU Assistant Professor Joanne Cacciatore following the death of her daughter Cheyenne.  

It now has 75 chapters worldwide including active support groups, in-person and online, along with many mentors volunteering to support bereaved families.

Celebration Of Lights Starts Friday 11/16

The Arizona Celebration of Lights includes more than 7,000,000 lights and 300 animated and still displays. 

 In order to see it, you actually stay in your car and drive through it! 

The organizers boast that it is Arizona's largest display of holiday lights. 

They anticipate that during this holiday season, about 140,000 people will pass through the display. See photos of the Arizona Celebration of Lights.

 Where is the Arizona Celebration of Lights? At 99th Avenue and Loop 101 (at Thomas). Here is a map and directions to the event.

 When can I see it? 

 Every night, including Thanksgiving and Christmas, from Friday, November 16, 2012 through Sunday, January 6, 2013. Sunday, Monday through Thursday: 5:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday, Saturday and Holidays: 5:30 p.m. to 10 p.m.

What happens? 

 You'll be driving for about a mile through five tunnels to see the holiday light show. You stay in your own car.

On Friday through Sunday nights you can park at the end and visit Santa's Village featuring activities (extra charge may apply, cash only), food and vendors.

How much will it cost to get in?

 Passenger vehicles: $15 per vehicle Monday through Thursday; $20 per vehicle Friday, Saturday, Sundays and holidays

 The world has never been the same!! I still feel the same pain today I felt that tragic day..

I think of you always, and I hope that you know...
Life here without you for surely can blow.

I know your an angel with halo and wings...
With family and friends, and know many things.

To My Anasazi Readers

Hello Anasazi Blog Reader and Contributor.. .. After receiving notice Today that our HOA Board has threatened to sue for the Anasazi Living Blog, 
Being that I am dealing with my Fathers Cancer and New Appointment to Board of my Charity I will not publish any further on blog,

  After discussing with other residents they also have agreed we have exposed all the skeletons in the closets here at Anasazi, 

 After speaking we all agreed it might be worth it fighting it legally as all facts were substantiated on blog and the truth was printed, But with this Family illness this is a time when You have to pick your battles!!  

 And winning a case against these losers would also make me a loser, I have spent 8 years keeping you all apprised of the things here, Now it is your time to use the information that was provided....FUNNY   

 The lengths they have gone to keep this game of theirs quiet..THIS OUGHT TO BE A GOOD LESSON TO Residents THAT THOSE IN POWER ARE ABUSING IT..I have archived all blog entries for further private discussions with residents..You have all been given a wealth of information..It is up to you all how you use it..

 I am still here for the crusade but do not have the time to deal with these egotistical clowns any longer. But will continue to support residents that move to have Board removed..

 IN THE END WE HAVE WON..WE EXPOSED THE CONFLICT HERE..ENOUGH THAT THEY ARE SCRAMBLING TO COVER THEIR BASES ..
